Kittie B. PROPST and
John Alexander COBB Uncle John married Kitty Propst, a lovely girl. She visited Dena to get acquainted with the Cobb family, and unfortunate for her, there was no modern plumbing in those days, and she was so humiliated when she broke the china pot (never mind, though, she fit in just beautifully and she was a marvelous cook). Uncle John was quite the debonair one, and places he would go! Elected as a delegate to the National Democratic Convention in New York when Al Smith was running for President - Uncle John stayed in N. Y. so long (five weeks to be exact), we were all wondering if he had been elected to something more than a mere delegate - Upon his return to our amazement, he was carrying a cane - By unscrewing the top you would never, never guess - The cane was concealing no less than a flask.
