     John Chappell PRICE The 1860 Census shows John C. Price residing in Lowndes County, Mississippi. All of his children, however, were born in Alabama, including Laura in 1859, suggesting that the family had only recently moved to Mississippi when the census was taken on July 7, 1860. John listed his occupation as a farmer and valued his real estate at $10,000 and his personal estate at $15,000 -- quite a healthy sum of money for that time. 1 He died two months after marrying his second wife. 2 He was A John Price served as a private in Company F of Snodgrass' Northern Alabama mounted volunteers during the Florida Indian War between 1836 and 1838. Robert Price (possibly John's brother) also served in the same unit.3 He married Margaret HODGES, daughter of William HODGES Colonel. John Chappell PRICE was born in 1815 at Virginia. He was the son of Robert PRICE and Frances S. CHAPPELL.
