Since the baptismal registry does not name a father, Georg was given his mother’s surname. Anna Catharina had no other children and appears to have remained single throughout her life. Georg later inherited the Wiesent fishing rights from his grandfather, Johann Michael Friedmann, pointing to a close bond with his grandparents, who likely helped raise him and provided financial support. Anna Catharina died on January 13, 1843, after a seven-week struggle with dropsy, at the age of 43.
